You will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a 3:1 setting. As a Sylvan Instructor, you will provide personalized instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, and Study Skills to students of all levels.
As a successful Instructor, you will teach Sylvan programs, supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction, reward students for completed assignments, evaluate and document student progress, and communicate student needs to the center manager. You will also inspire students by developing rapport with them and establishing a fun learning environment, maintaining a positive attitude and demonstrating enthusiasm for teaching and for Sylvan.We require:
Our recent growth in high school math students has allowed us to post a new position for a part-time math instructor. As an Instructor at Sylvan, your primary responsibility is teaching. Lesson planning and preparation are done for you. As a part-time Sylvan Mathematics Instructor, you will be trained to use the Sylvan curriculum and be given the tools to teach in a small group, 3:1 setting and to assist student with mathematics homework. Sylvan Learning Center of Columbus is seeking an Administrative/Teacher Assistant to begin immediately. This position will report to the Director of Education. As an assistant you will become familiar with Sylvan's prescription-writing methods and assist in the smooth operation of the center. As an employee in our center you will handle a variety of clerical tasks to help meet our student's needs such as reception, filing, and copying.Duties include:
The number of hours will vary, but will average between 15-20 per week. The schedule is somewhat flexible but is primarily an evening position. Qualified candidates will be available to work weekday afternoons/evenings after 3:00pm. Additionally, the center is open on Saturdays and the candidate will be expected to assist with testing new students as needed on Saturdays.Additional requirements are:
