Center Wins Awards
The Sylvan Annual Conference was held last month in Orlando, Florida, and in addition to our Director of Education, Jessica Harrell, being named a finalist in the DE of the Year category, the Troy center came home with two other distinguished awards. The first was for Educational Excellence which recognizes those centers with academic growth above 1.5 years for the average of their students. The second was the GOLD award in territory excellence, which is achieved by having high student enrollment, referrals, customer satisfaction and outstanding programs that support the center's success.
We're so proud of the staff and students here at our center, as well as the parents of our students who commit to getting their children here so that we can help them to achieve academic success!

Higher ACT Scores ARE Within Reach!
Our Troy Sylvan conducts seminars to prepare students for the ACT statewide exam! Our thorough 24-hour program includes instruction in English, reading, math and science reasoning, and a practice test-taking session at the completion of the course. A certified instructor teaches students an array of test-taking strategies to handle every question type. Additionally, each student receives comprehensive Sylvan ACT Prep course books complete with lessons, homework sets, practice tests, and diagnostic score reports. Classes are taught in a small group format and participation is limited to 10 students per group (though most times we have fewer students per session). Seminars will be offered several times between August 2009 and June 2010 and each is designed to be completed the week prior to the statewide exam.
Our next round of classes begins on Monday, January 4th, so hurry and reserve your spot now!
The cost is only $995 and a $100 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of enrollment.
The average increase has been 4 points! Open to Juniors and Seniors only.
Troy Location FALL Hours
It's time again...The Troy Sylvan Learning Center will begin a new Fall schedule on Monday, August 31st. Students may attend classes in one-hour or two-hour blocks (as recommended) any time Monday through Thursday from 3:00 until 8:00pm. Friday instruction will be available beginning at 3:00 and continuing until 5:00p.m. and Saturdays will offer 9:00 or 11:00 starting times (in two-hour blocks). Currently enrolled students should receive a letter in the mail this week and are asked to have their fall hours submitted by August 21st. Early birds who have them in before 8/14 will receive extra tokens!!
