Finally! A Test Prep Program on YOUR terms!
Introducing a FUN and EXCITING way for our high school students to work at your own pace, on your own schedule, in the comfort of your own home to prepare for upcoming tests! Enrollment in our Sylvan Test Prep.com program includes access to the PSAT, PLAN, ACT or SAT and includes everything you’ll need to prep for your test and maximize your test score, including printable practice tests, online answer sheets, and detailed video explanations for every test question and related subject lessons. It’s a great addition to our in-center test prep program OR all by itself. The cost is $499 if done alone ($399 with any in-center program) and you’ll have access for one full calendar year. Academic Excellence at the Troy Center!
Our Troy Sylvan Learning Center once again finished 2011 with outstanding accolades! Besides taking home honors from The Sylvan Annual Conference in September, we finished the year with our business metrics increased in every area. We are especially proud of the academic growth record -– 94% of our students achieved a minimum increase of one full grade level equivalent in their Academic Reading and Math Essentials programs after their first post-test -- surpassing even corporate standards! Our award-nominated Director of Education, Jessica Hensley, continues to lead her team to excellence in all academic areas and we saw an increase in the number of students who successfully completed their programs as well. The conference recognition came in the form of the GOLD award in territory excellence, which is achieved by having high student enrollment, referrals, customer satisfaction and outstanding programs that support the center's success.

Higher ACT Scores ARE Within Reach!
Our Troy Sylvan conducts outstanding TEST PREP seminars to prepare students for the ACT* statewide exam! Our thorough 24-hour program includes instruction in English, reading, math and science reasoning, and a practice test-taking session at the completion of the course. A certified instructor teaches students an array of test-taking strategies to handle every question type. Additionally, each student receives comprehensive Sylvan ACT Test Prep course books complete with lessons, homework sets, practice tests, and diagnostic score reports. Classes are taught in a small group format and participation is limited to 10 students per group (though most times we have fewer students per session). Seminars will be offered several times between August 2011 and June 2012 and each is designed to be completed the week prior to the statewide exam.
Our next round of ACT Prep classes begins on Monday, January 9th, so hurry and reserve your spot now!
The cost is only $995 and a $100 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of enrollment.
The average increase has been 4 points and we offer the program several times throughout the year (see schedule). Open to Juniors and Seniors only.

Troy Location Fall Instructional Hours
It's time again...The Troy Sylvan Learning Center will begin a new Fall schedule on Monday, August 29th. Students may attend classes in one-hour or two-hour blocks (as recommended) any time Monday through Thursday from 3:30 until 8:30pm. Friday instruction will be available beginning at 3:30 and continuing until 5:30p.m. and Saturdays will offer 9:30 or 11:30 starting times (in two-hour blocks)beginning Saturday, September 10th. Individualized instruction for reading help, math help, writing help, test prep, college prep, study skills and homework support. Whether your child needs to catch up, keep up or get ahead...we make it convenient!

Many people don't realize that not only do Sylvan Learning Centers NOT assign homework; we actually ASSIST students with their homework from school! Besides coming here to fill in those missing skills gaps, students find help and support with work from school that they find difficult. A definite advantage over facing the homework wars at home!
Troy Sylvan Addresses Student's Math Needs!
In 2008, a National Math Panel was assembled to address the growing concern over American students' math aptitude. The panel concluded that U.S. schools are falling short of delivering minimum proficiencies to our students in all areas of mathematics. Sylvan is proud to highlight our MATH programs which include Math Essentials, Algebra I and II, Geometry and Advanced Math as well as homework support for those students needing additional math help. Sylvan Learning Products Win National Parenting Publications Award
Sylvan Learning Products, which are books and kits recently released by Random House, are a 2009 Honors National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) winner!
The books, which cover language arts topics like reading comprehension, spelling, and vocabulary for kindergarten through 5th grade, are based on Sylvan’s proven system and engaging, age-appropriate curriculum.
