Connie has been at the Adrian Sylvan Learning Center since it opened in March of 2004. She began as a teacher and has worked her way into the office where she is instrumental to our success. She is a graduate of Adrian College and Siena Heigths University.
Aimee has been with the Adrian Sylvan Learning Center for 2 years. She has many years of Guest Teaching experience as well as Guest Service at a local retailer. This summer she accepted a position to work with the staff and students full time. She is a graduate of Adrian College and enjoys working with children of all ages.
Jackie taught for 33 years for the Monroe School District. Upon retirement, 4 years ago, she realized that she missed the children too much to stay away, so she joined our team here at Sylvan and plays a key role in administering to the children.
Gay Lewis has taught all levels of math from grades seven through College Algebra. Most of her career was as a wife, mother of two sons, and math teacher in Germany where she taught in the Department of Defence Schools. She is an active traveler, devoted theater enthusiast, regular reader, and occasionally, a reluctant gardener. She has had extensive experience with special needs students.
Ian has been an instructor here at the Adrian Sylvan Center for the past 3 years. His full time job is being a guest teacher for Lenawee County Schools. He truly enjoys working with the kids and is dedicated to the teaching profession. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, basketball, and watching his favorite sport on T.V. We are fortunate to have him on our team.
Sarah is new to our team. She is enthusiastic and motivated to share her love of learning with the children she teaches. She is a graduate of Hope College and is currently seeking a permanent teaching position in Lenawee County. She enjoys playing her Cello in the Hillsdale Orchastra and hanging out with her husband, Adam.
Dyan's speciality is higher math and science. She is currently teaching Algebra II, Trigonemetry and Pre-Calculus at Onsted High School. She is also busy working on her masters in Math Education at Siena Heights University. In her free time she enjoys watching crime shows on T.V.
Melissa had been a valued teacher in all areas of instruction. She is currently teaching French and Geography at Willow Run High School in Ypsilanti. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family.
Elaine teaches both Academic Reading and Math Essentials for us. She has been teaching for Hudson Community Schools for 13 years. This year she is teaching 7th/8th grade English. She enjoys cooking, especially desserts. Her specialty is anything with chocolate in the recipe. We are appreciative to all the experience Elaine brings to our Center.
Danielle teaches many of our programs available at Sylvan. She loves working with the students and has a great "deskside" manner. She currently is guest teaching for Lenawee County. In her free time, Danielle enjoys spending time with her beautiful baby girl and helping her husband with his ministry.
While it's true, Kellie has been busy coaching the Adrian Maples 7th-8th grade girls Volleyball team, she will be back in November to resume her position of tutor extraodinare. She also teaches Math for the Adrian Maples and continue helping us out in that field when she returns. She is very active in sports of all sorts and enjoys spending time with her family.
Doug teaches at Madison Schools. New to our staff, Doug brings with him a wealth of Science knowledge. He aids us with students needing Chemisty and Math homework help.
Jim has been working for the Britton-Macon School District in many capacities. We are glad he came to share his teaching talent with us. Jim specializes in high Math and works primarily with our Homework Support students. He is an invaluable asset to our team.
Sarah is a graduate of Central Michigan University. Her hobbies include, hiking with her dog, Nova and playing the piano. She enjoys working with children of all ages and does a great job tutoring in all subject areas. It is a pleasure having her on our staff.
Martha comes to us with a wealth of teaching experience. We are very fortunate to have her with us. She is very versitile and a wonderful asset to our team.
Aaron is our most requested teacher. He spends his summer months helping us out with his awesome ability to reach kids. During the school year, he teaches Special Ed at Sand Creek Schools.
Amanda comes to us from Onsted Elementary where she teaches 3rd grade. She is sharing her summer with us and enjoying the extra opportunity to touch children's lives in a new setting. Her free time is spent with her family, her husband and 3 year-old daughter.
Carey has been an excellent addition to our staff. She brings with her experience in teaching in a variety of classroom settings and several different age groups. She enjoys working in her yard and spending time with her husband.
