Administrative/Teacher Assistant

At least one year administrative assistant experience and strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) required. Professional telephone manner and good communication skills, as well as being detail oriented and organized are also required.

Responsible to the Center Director and the Director of Education for a variety of support activities.

Responsibilities include:

Answer phones, take messages, and handle/direct inquiry calls.

Schedule/confirm conferences.

Order office supplies/educational supplies for center.

Provide administrative support at staff meetings.

Maintain daily student schedules by rescheduling classes, contacting no shows, and confirming permanent schedule changes.

As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, 3:1 setting. You will provide personalized instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills, SAT/ACT prep and State exams to students of all levels.

Deliver Quality Education:
• Teach using Sylvan based programs
• Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour while they work with equipment and materials
• Reward students for completed assignments

• Develop rapport with students and establishes a fun learning environment
• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan

We require:
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience
• State level teaching certification (current or expired, not required for Math Instruction)
