"Over the years, she has had problems with math and missed learning some of the most basic concepts. The problems snowballed until she finally failed her class.
I asked for help from her teacher and her school but found they had little or no help available. I purchased books, bought computer programs, nothing worked. I tried to help her with homework, but I would get frustrated. It truly wasn't that Kelsey wasn't trying or wanting to learn. It was that we had little or no resources to help her.
I finally called Sylvan Learning in Helean. The owner Charlene was kind and understanding. She was able to test Kelsey and see where she needed help and where she didn't. Kelsey committed to a schedule and spent the summer learning most of the things she had missed as well as taking the eighth grade course over again, this time she passed!
I cannot tell you how much of a change Sylvan has made in Kelsey! She looks forward to her tutoring classes. Ron, her instructor, is a miracle worker! Kelsey has so much confidence and pride in her work now. This is also spilling over into her other classes too.
My child has made a complete turnaround sice working with Sylvan. Kelsey is in ninth grade this year and has an "A" average in her algebra class. All of her grades have gone up this year. I am so proud of her and she is proud of herself!
I wholeheartly recommend Sylvan Learning. They are truly able to provide all the tools a child needs to become a better student, and they offer it in a warm, nuturing environment. I do not know how they are able to make such incredible changes in a student but I can attest that they do!"
