Book Adventure

Sylvan Learning has been a long time sponsor of a FREE, web-based reading motivation program called Book Adventure.  This program is designed to encourage students to read more often, for longer periods of time, and with greater understanding.  With Book Adventure, children create their own book lists from over 7,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on books they've read, and earn points and prizes for literacy success.  Follow the link below to read, click, and win.

Sylvan Preschool Workshop

The Sylvan Learning Center of Bannockburn is pleased to now offer a Preschool workshop for students ages 4 and up.   This small group instruction is taught by certified teachers focusing on:

     - Letter Recognition and Writing

     - Concept & Sight Vocabulary

     - Phonemic Awareness

     - Book Handling & Print Awareness

Autism Awareness Day

Recently, the Sylvan Learning Center of Bannockburn joined a number of other community organizations and businesses at the Lord & Taylor in Northbrook to help raise autism awareness.   The center director, Keith Anzelmo, was joined by the center director from our sister center in Buffalo Grove at an event table in Lord & Taylor to provide information on Sylvan programs as well as ways to keep students learning over the summer.  While there, they met Bears number 82, Greg Olsen who was also there for the event.
