Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

Pattie Bredehorst
Center Director - Executive Director
Pattie is a graduate from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Sociology. She earned her Masters in Early Childhood from Towson State College in Maryland. Pattie started 2 preschools in the area - Park Ridge and Harvard. She was nominated for Center Director of the Year in 2003 and 2004.
Wanda Wagoner
Director of Education
Wanda is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. degree in Education.
Wanda was nominated for Director of ducation in 2004.
Stan Biezynski
Lead Math Instructor
Stan graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Math. He retired after 23 years teaching math at Badger High School in Lake Geneva, Wisc. He was nominated for Sylvan's Instructor of the Year in 2003.
Michael Kennedy
instructor - science - math - study skills - ACT PREP
Michael graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. He has his MASTERS in Counseling.
Michael teaches at McHenry East/West High School.
We are very excited that Michael has joined our Sylvan McHenry team of certified teachers.
Michael's specialties are Biology - Chemistry - Physics - Higher Math and ACT PREP.
Michael will be working with our students in math - study skills - ACT PREP and Homework Support.
Sarah Lawler
instructor - Reading - Homework Help (Higher Math/Spanish)
Sarah Lawler graduated from Marian University in Wisc. Her degree is in Secondary/Middle Education and Mathematics with a minor in Spanish.
Sarah is a welcomed addition to our Sylvan team. She will be working with our high school students in all areas of High School/College Math - Algebra 1 and 2 - Geometry - Pre-Calculus - Calculus - AP Calculus - Statistics and Probability. Sarah will also be able to help our students with Spanish.
