Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Jill Holtz
Center Director
Jill is a graduate from the University of Illinois. She has experience in both education and business. She has been a certified Sylvan Director since February of 1998.
Stephanie Carpenter
Director of Education
Stephanie is a graduate from Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in Special Education. She has teaching experience in the public school system as well as over six years of experience with Sylvan. Stephanie has been with Sylvan Learning Centers in the Chicagoland area since 2005. She started as an instructor at the Algonquin Sylvan in Feburary 2011 and was promoted to Director of Education in August of 2011.
Janet Schneider
Executive Director
Janet recieved a B.S. from Eastern Illinois University and a M.A. from National University. She has twelve years of classroom teaching experience. She has been the Executive Director at Sylvan since April of 1988.
