Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Jill Holtz
Center Director
Jill is a graduate from the University of Illinois. She has experience in both education and business. She has been a certified Sylvan Director since February of 1998.
Callie Masten
Director of Education
Callie received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. She earned her teaching certificate at the University of Texas in Arlington, Texas. She has 21 years of teaching experience in the public school system. Callie has been an instructor for Sylvan in Texas and Illinois. In 2002, she accepted the position of Director of Education in St. Charles. She transfered to the Alqonquin Sylvan Center in June of 2008.
Leslie Goesel
Assistant Director of Education
Leslie has been with the center for over eleven years as an instructor, diagnostician, program developer and assistant director. Leslie received her degree in education from Northern Illinois University.
Janet Schneider
Executive Director
Janet recieved a B.S. from Eastern Illinois University and a M.A. from National University. She has twelve years of classroom teaching experience. She has been the Executive Director at Sylvan since April of 1988.
