ONE FAMILY...TWO SUCCESS STORIESBoth of our kids have attended Sylvan over the years...Sylvan's systematic approach to teaching concepts and identifying road blocks to learning in the classroom have worked wonders for our family. Our daughter attended Sylvan between 4th - 8 grade for reading difficulties. She is now a Freshman in high school and is an honor roll student with enormous self-confidence in her abilities and is not hesitant to ask questions in class in areas where she needs more help. This was a problem in the past and Sylvan has worked with her to overcome these challenges. Our son has attended Sylvan since Spring 2007 when he had troubles getting organized with his school schedule, low grades, poor attitude towards school and homework. Sylvan worked with him on homework skills and also on 2 specific topics, math and grammer. He made the most recent honor roll in school this year for the first time in 4 years. His grades have improved, but so has his general attitude towards school and assuming responsibility. He is now in Sylvan's ACT program. He is looking forward to performing better on the ACT in April 2008 than his base line scores indicated last November. We believe Sylvan has made a difference in the lives of our children. They are both preforming better academically, but are both enjoying their high school experience much more also - socially with friends and also in their extra curricular activies. Though both kids reached out and got the job done to overcome their challenges, it was with the positive approach that Sylvan employs that helped them over these hurdles. Sylvan has made a difference in their lives now, but has also helped shaped their chances of a more successful life after high school and college. We believe in Sylvan's approach and our children are examples of their successful approach to helping kids reach their full potential. MOVING UP!Our son continues to love Sylvan. He's always excited when he has to go on Tues/Wed. He loves all of the teachers that he's had there. He feels really good about himself and the improvements he's made. With MAP testing at school, he's moved up one grade level (reading). We LOVE that!! - Happy Parents |

Grades Are Up!Prior to attending Sylvan, Stephen's grades were below average. He has a very long day at school, 9-4 PM, and is not always happy about being at Sylvan.
