Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Brianne Demma
Director of Education
Brianne received her degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English from Illinois State University in 2007. She began as an instructor at the South Elgin Sylvan Center and was promoted to Director of Education in March of 2008. She brings to the center a background in education as well as retail sales. In January 2010, she accepted a new position as Director at the St. Charles Sylvan Center.
Cathi Alonzo
Office Adminstrator
The friendly voice that you hear when you call the St. Charles Sylvan office might just be Cathi. She has been with Sylvan since 2002 and keeps things in order while working with parents, students, and the community.
Janet D Schneider
Executive Director
Janet received her undergraduate degree in elementary education/special education from Eastern Illinois University and her Masters in Education Administration from National-Louis University. She taught 12 years in the Elgin Public School System. She has been the Executive Director with Sylvan since 1988.
