Sylvan Celebrates National Read Across America Day
It won't be long and we will once again celebrate this great day, but for now...here are some of the highlights from last year. Let us know if your school would like a special Sylvan visit in 2013!
On March 2, 2012, Sylvan Learning Center visited St. John Lutheran School as well as elementary schools in the Mahomet School District to "Read Across America."
This event was in conjunction with Dr. Seuss's Birthday and the National Education Association's initiative. We shared goodie bags with teachers and students while enjoying a good book. We were able to read to over 1,800 students across Central Illinois.
Food Drive 2012
THE FINAL COUNT IS IN....We contributed to the over 34,900 cans that were donated during this effort! Way to go! For the EIFB, that equals over 53,000 MEALS to our local community.
Sylvan Learning Center teamed with NHUMC & the Eastern Illinois Food Bank to collect canned goods in December 2012.
Thanks to all of those that gave and to those students in center that purchased cans with their earned tokens.
