'Confidence Continues to Grow at Sylvan'"My son really enjoys working with your teachers. I think he especially likes having somebody on his side, other than me, who cheers him on and is excited about his accomplishments. Your staff knows how to build confidence in stuggling students, as well as instruct them in skills that they are missing. Sylvan testing identifies specific areas of academic weakness and develops a customized plan to correct them. That's exactly what he needed!" - Deanne |
'Jake's Very Own Sylvan Success Story'"Jake read a story to me last evening for school 'Mr. Putter and Tabby Pour Tea'. He read all 22 pages within 5 or 6 minutes--his fluency just knocked my socks off! I was so proud I almost cried. His face lit up like a Christmas tree when I told him how fast he read it. We were both beaming and high fiving! It was a wonderful thing. Thank you all for all of your help and changing my son's life in such a special way." - ....Jake's thankful mom, Lori. |
'A Grandparent's Heartfelt Thanks'"As a grandparent and parent, it was very difficult for me to observe my then seven-year-old grandson struggle with the process of learning to read. In an effort to help him achieve this skill, he was enrolled in two different reading programs without any noticeable improvement. We then enrolled him at Sylvan. The staff were very professional. They immediately, through testing, identified his needs and developed an individualized plan for him to follow. Since attending Sylvan, he has demonstrated significant improvement in his reading skills. We have also noticed he now has more self-confidence and enjoys reading now. We are very gratefult to the staff at Sylvan for the services and compassion they have given him. |
THIS SYLVAN MOMENT COULD BE YOURS!"On a Tuesday morning, a mother burst into my office, almost jumping for joy. Her son had almost completed his first 36 hours of his program. His 1st grade teacher had recommended retention, but mom was very reluctant. The school finally agreed to waive the decision until the end of the summer when they would retest him to determine grade placement. He began coming to Sylvan in early June and worked very hard developing confidence and building skills. On this day mom just couldn’t wait to share the results of that testing. He did so well that his teacher even gave him a second test to confirm the results. She told mom that whatever she had been doing over the summer with her son to make sure she continues. At that time, mom shared with the teacher that he had been attending Sylvan. Quote mom “The teacher is now a real believer in Sylvan programs” as mom is, who shares her experiences with all of her friends at every opportunity she has. This little successful reader will continue to grow as he completes the rest of his Sylvan program." - Judie Boxdorfer - Director/Sylvan Learning Center/Fenton |
