Contest Guidelines
• Students register to receive their BookAdventure Username and Password.
• Visit your school library, local library or bookstore to get the books to read from the appropriate level reading list.
• After reading each book, return to the Book Adventure Web site and answer 5-10 multiple-choice questions on the book. Points are accumulated for correct answers.
• A score of 60 percent or higher on quizzes can earn points that can be redeemed for prizes.
• Scores will be accumulated during the contest time-frame January 1st – April 15th.
• Points are redeemable for special prizes and gifts through the Web site. Prizes include certificates of achievement, discounted meals at national restaurant chains and magazine subscriptions.
• Students with the three highest scores in each category will be awarded prizes at the Amazing Race Finish Line on April 30th.
• Winners will be determined by the number of quizzes passed.

• 1 – 36 Hour Academic Writing Scholarship
• 1 Mini Netbook Computer
• 1 8 hour Homework Help Scholarship

Sylvan ACT Prep
The SAT is the most popular college entrance exam in the US, both in terms of the number of students who take the test and the number of schools that accept it. The ACT is a close second. In general, colleges in the Midwest prefer applicants to take the ACT, while those on the coasts prefer the SAT. Many colleges accept either the ACT or the SAT.
The ACT is a 3 hr, 25 Minute college admissions test made up of 5 different sections.
