Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
Megan graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a degree in Elementary Education. She loves her job and all the new "challenges" it brings each day. Most of all, she loves seeing the kids smile and light up when they get an answer correct. Megan loves to see the children's self-confidence go up and seeing those "success" moments that happen because of the progress that a student makes in their program. These are the true reasons why she became a teacher and enjoys every minute of what she does!
"My heart is singing for joy this morning. A miracle has happened! The light of understanding has shone upon my little pupil's mind, and behold, all things are changed."
Breann has been instructing students at Sylvan since 2007. She received her Bachelor of Art in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Breann teaches Beginning Reading, Academic Reading, Academic Writing, Math Essentials, Study Skills, Algebra I, Advanced Reading Skills, and ACT Prep. “I enjoy watching students as they grow in their knowledge and master skills. Just as one student is meeting their goals and completing their program, another student is just beginning their Sylvan story!”
Sandy is Kearney’s veteran tutor, having taught at Sylvan for more than 10 years. She teaches Academic Reading, Academic Writing, Study Skills, and Beginning Reading. She is a graduate of Hastings College with a degree in English, Journalism, and Education. Sandy loves teaching at Sylvan, working individually with students to help them increase their confidence and love of learning. She loves to help students improve their reading skills, especially the beginning reading students. "I feel a great sense of satisfaction when these students suddenly realize they can read. When teachers report back to us that the students have increased their reading level at school and are volunteering to read aloud, it is a great feeling!"
