Teacher Sees Progress in Rily at SchoolFluency and decoding was a struggle for Rily when he first came to Sylvan of Frisco in July. He came to us three times a week for two-hour sessions and has made major improvements! His teachers at school cannot believe how fluently he reads and with so much confidence. “This is not the same student I saw back in May”, says one of his school teachers. |

We Could Not Be HappierSydney first came to us back in November as a pre-kindergartener struggling with her fine motor skills and speech. By coming to Sylvan, she not only improved in these areas, but her confidence has grown significantly. Sydney is more independent, ambitious, and happy. Life Changing ExperienceVictoria enrolled in Sylvan’s Beginning Reading program to help build her phonics. Once she started her instruction, it didn’t take long for Victoria to grasp her new skills and begin applying them in the classroom. In school, she is doing better not only in reading, but all her other academic classes as well. At Sylvan, her teachers have noticed a dramatic increase in her self esteem and confidence in her own reading abilities. Her father has noticed a significant difference in how she reads and decodes words. |

Sylvan Works!Charles first came to Sylvan in February 2009. As a first grader, he was discouraged and upset with his lack of understanding in math. Due to his lack of confidence and skill gaps, Charles’s mom and dad were concerned he would have to repeat the first grade. Charles has come consistently each week and has made huge progress! He is starting the 2nd grade ahead of the other students with more confidence than ever! “This is our second student that has come to Sylvan. Because Sylvan had helped my step son, I knew that it would work for Charles! I am very happy with my son’s progress, and I feel that this was worth the investment,” says Charles’s parent. |

In only three months, Mark has raised his comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary skills by three full grade levels. His writing has also become remarkably better, and others outside Sylvan, including his co-workers, have begun to take notice of his progress. His amazing work ethic and desire to succeed makes him stand among the best that have come to Sylvan. |
