Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

John Wheeler
Director of Education
John has almost 20 years of progressive education experience. He is certified by the State of Texas as a principal and math teacher. John has a B.S. in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Houston. John's professional background, that began in Corparate America, and his love of teaching bring a unique mix of experience and expertise to Sylvan. John has a love of learning that has inspired many individuals to further their education.
Brenda Wheeler
Center Director
Brenda was employed in the Banking and Financial industry for the last 38 years. Her decision to join her husband John at Sylvan stems from her desire to support him in his great passion for teaching and developing young minds. Brenda has a B.S. in Business Management and many years of retail management experience that included management of staff in seven states. Brenda brings her joy of working with people, a talent for languages and strong management skills in this new and exciting venture.
Donna Le
Associate Director
Donna came to us after working for Houston Community College for more than 5 years. She was a resource for students needing information about registration, admissions and tutoring services. She has a great rapport with the students and is always there to make sure the teachers have all the materials they need to ensure each students gets as much as possible in every session.
Arthur Grant
Academic Instructor
Mr. Grant has four years of special education math, reading, and writing. EC-12 Special Education Certified. EC-12 Educational Diagnostician Certification. Master's degree in Exceptionality Education from the University of Saint Thomas
Dhanika Dave
Assistant Center Director
Dhanika manages the Center part time. She meets with parents,conducts conferences and ensures the Center operations are up to Sylvan standards.
