Claude Guidroz
Owner and Executive Director
Mr. "G" as students affectionately refer to him has been an educator for the past 42 years and a principal at both the elementary and high school level for 12 years. Mr. "G" moved to Beaumont from Paducah, Kentucky where he was recipient of the Chamber of Commerce "Extra Mile Award." Prior to Kentucky, he lived in Louisiana where he was an elementary school principal for 10 years. As a classroom teacher, Mr. "G" represented the state of Louisian as LSA Teacher of the Year in 1972.
In addition to certification as a Sylvan Director, Mr. Guidroz is a Perfomax cerified business and education consultant. He conducts numerous seminars and workshops. A popular and experienced public speaker and group facilitator, Mr. Guidroz has addressed civic and business organizations on topics of interest to the business and education community.
Mr. Guidroz received his B.A. in Communications and English and his M.A. in Gifted and Special Education from the University of Louisiana.
He has maintained membership in the American Management Association, the Association for supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Association of Pulic Relations, the N.A.E.S.P and the N.C.E.A. He has served as former president of L.A.C.S.P.A. and has been a featured presenter at national conventions and teacher workshops.
He has served on advisory committees for the department of education, chaired school self-study commissions, and has been published in national educational magazines. He has also served on the Chamber of Commerce special committee on education for Paducah, Kentucky and on the Chamber's leadership panel. Mr. Guidroz was a recent keynote speaker for the Texas Business Educator's State convention and holds official positions in community service organizations.
Ruthie Guidroz

When you call the Beaumont Sylvan you will have the opportunity to speak with Mrs. Guidroz. Passionate about helping families find the right educational solution, Ruthie talks with new families about how the Sylvan program works and what steps are involved to enrolling in a Sylvan program.
Bruce H Powell
Director of Operations
Bruce is a math person! He has a degree in math
from Lamar University. Bruce received his secondary teacher certification from Stephen F. Austin. He joined the Sylvan team as an instructor in 1992 and became a Director in 1993.
Doris Gary
Senior Instructor/Progress Manager
Doris is a homebound teacher during the day and moonlights with Sylvan every night. She has been here since 1995 and works great with our high school and middle school students.
Debbie M Duke
Director of Education
Debbie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Elementary Education, Reading, English, and Science. She also earned a Master of Science degree in Mid-Management. She has been with Sylvan since 1999.
