Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

R. Michael Willis
Center Director
Mike Willis, BA, MS. Mike joined Sylvan in 2002 as Center Director in Sacramento,Ca. He is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2003 Mike relocated to San Antonio where he has been a Center Director at the Alamo Heights location and is currently at the Thousand Oaks location.Mike enjoys seeing the self worth, self esteem and self confidence improve amongst sylvan students
Margie Nummela
Director of Education
Margie Nummela, B.S. in Kindergarten/Elementary Education, University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Margie has nine years of teaching experience in the 1st through 6th grades. Margie, her husband Tony, and son Jeremy have recently moved back to San Antonio from Kansas City. She has two dogs, two lovebirds, and a lot of fish. She enjoys reading and water sports. Her favorite activities at Sylvan are teaching reading and conferencing with parents.
Caitlin Dodson
Director of Education
Caitlin was born and raised in San Antonio and is a product of the North East Independent School District. She received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University in San Marcos and is a certified teacher in Elementary Education and Middle School Science. Shortly after graduation, Caitlin moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where she worked for nearly two years as the Education Specialist for Sylvan North Dallas. She found out quickly what a wonderful place Sylvan is. She was ecstatic to learn that she would still be a part of the Sylvan family when she and her husband relocated back to San Antonio. Caitlin loves seeing the students at Sylvan gain confidence through their programs and the smiles on their faces when they succeed! In her spare time, Caitlin’s likes to read and spend time outdoors. She enjoys spending time with her family and her dog Dakota.
