Director of Education
Sylvan Learning Center of Abilene is currently in need of a full time Director of Education. The applicant should have a valid teaching certificate, 2-3 years teaching experience, and a solid understanding of the educational process. In addition, strong leadership skills, initiative and the ability to multi-task are vital attributes for this position. This position is solely responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction for each student in our center. The Director must have excellent communication skills in order to effectively communicate with parents, teachers, members of the community, and students. A teaching certificate is required.
Center Instructor
Enjoy working with kids? We have students of all ages and all subjects. You must be a certified teacher. We are looking for math, reading, writing, and beginning reading teachers. All instruction is after school and on Saturday mornings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct upper level high school & college math students in 3:1 student teacher ratio.
Subjects: High School Math and College Algebra
All lesson plans and materials are provided
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree from an Accredited University (Math tutors may be Junior or Senior in college with math background)
One year of teaching and / or tutoring experience a plus
Teacher certification a plus
Enthusiastic, personable, love to work with students
Proven competency in academic subjects
Exceptional communication skills
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a clear background check (no felonies; no misdemeanors within 24 months)
Reliable transportation
Flexible late afternoon, evening, and weekend schedule to tutor students
