ABOUT MIKE:
Mike is husband to Cindy and father of Matthew, 25, and Michael, 22. Mike's hobbies and interests include reading, washing cars, mentoring young people, snow skiing, and traveling. He also attends church at Beltway Park and leads a Life Group Bible Study for young adults.
EDUCATION:
B.A. in Political Science from Hardin Simmons University
EXPERIENCE:
Former board member of AISD Board of Trustees, Abilene Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Meals on Wheels, & the Better Business Bureau. He is the President of the Board of the Serenity House and is also a board member of Pregnancy Resources of Abilene. He has owned this Sylvan Learning Center since May 2000. He also has owned the Sylvan in Lubbock since Nov. 2002 and the co-owner of Wichitia Falls Sylvan since July 2008.

ABOUT RHONDA:
Rhonda is married to Mike, Director of Technology at Clyde ISD, and has 2 sons, Jacob and Stephen. She enjoys bicycling, power walking, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. She also attends St. John's Lutheran Church in Winters.
EDUCATION:
B.A. in Business Management from Angelo State University
EXPERIENCE:
Rhonda has 15 years business administration experience and over 10 years experience in private business. She is past board secretary of Abilene Aggie Mom's Club and is currently president of the Winters Public Library board. She is also a mentor for students at Winters Elementary School. She chose to come to work at Sylvan because of her commitment to education and her enthusiasm for helping children reach their full potential. She has been with Sylvan since February 2011.

Kristina Hadaway

ABOUT KRISTINA:
Kristina is married to Nole. Her first child, Kambree, will be born in January 2012. She enjoys playing softball and scrapbooking.
EDUCATION:
B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University
EXPERIENCE:
Kristina started as an instructor at the Sylvan in Lubbock in January 2006. She then became the Director of Education at that center in April of 2006. In October 2007 she was transferred to the Director of Education position in the Abilene center. She currently teaches pre-K at St. John's Episcopal School. She has been with Sylvan since January 2006.

Johanna Morrow

ABOUT JOHANNA:
Johanna is married to C.J., a computer programmer for Rockwell Collins, and has a daughter, Jillian. She also has a son on the way that is due in February 2012. She enjoys reading, watching movies/sports, decorating, and cooking. She is involved with the Junior League of Abilene.

-- B.S. in Education and English from McMurry University
-- Teaching certification in Early Childhood through 4th grade
-- Teaching certification in Language Arts, and Reading in 8th through 12th grade
EXPERIENCE:
Johanna taught 7th and 8th grade Language Arts and Reading for 2 years in Dallas ISD. She started working at Sylvan Learning Center in Dallas in 2004. She moved to Abilene in 2004 and taught 1 year in the Abilene ISD. She has been the Director of Education at the Abilene Sylvan since October 2005.

Matthew Sullivan

ABOUT MATTHEW:
Matthew is the son of Mike and Cindy and brother to Michael. He enjoys watching sports, playing golf, snow skiing, working out, giving baseball lessons, and listening to music. He attends church at Beltay Park where he is involved with a Life Group Bible Study.

B.A. in Business Management from Abilene Christian University
EXPERIENCE:
Matthew worked 2 years at DOCUmation in San Antonio as a business development specialist. Prior to that, he did a summer long business management internship with HEB. As a college student, Matthew worked as a facilitator at Sylvan. He has been with Sylvan as a director since September 2011.

Pam Austin

ABOUT PAM:
Pam is married to Dennis, is mother to 3 children, has 2 daughter in laws, and 1 grandchild. She enjoys reading and crochet. She also attends church at Pioneer Drive Baptist where she is actively invovled.

EXPERIENCE:
Pam has 24 years teaching experience at the Kindergarten and 1st grade levels, 20 of those years at Pioneer Drive Baptist Child Development Center. She is currently teaching Read 180 for sophomores, juniors, and seniors at Abilene High School. She has been with Sylvan since May 1998.

Judith A Brentz

ABOUT JUDITH:
Judith is mother to 5 children, 13 foster children, and grandmother to 6 grandchildren. She enjoys teaching science, reading, and watching sports. She is a UIL science sponsor, is the softball scorekeeper at Sweetwater High School softball games, and works the ticket booth at Sweetwater High School football games.
EDUCATION:
-- B.A. in Chemistry and Biology with a Minor in History from Hardin Simmons University
-- Certified as a Secondary teacher
EXPERIENCE:
Judith has taught high school level chemsitry for 46 years, biology for over 20 years, and physics for 7 years. She also teaches college microbiology. She has been with Sylvan since August 2000.

ABOUT BRI:
Bri is married to Matt. She enjoys traveling, reading, and sports.
EDUCATION:
B.S. in Education from Abilene Christian University
EXPERIENCE:
Bri is currently teaching English at Clyde High School. Prior to that, she taught Social Studies and Enlgish at Anson High School. She has been with Sylvan since June 2011.

Rachel Gohlke

ABOUT RACHEL:
Rachel's husband is a Physical Therapy student at Hardin Simmons. They have 2 dogs and 2 cats. She enjoys doing crafts, scrapbooking, sewing, being outdoors, riding bikes, hiking, and camping. She also attends church at Southern Hills Church of Christ where is involved in several different church activities.
EDUCATION:
B.S. in Education from Abilene Christian University
EXPERIENCE:
Rachel has over 6 years teaching experience in a preschool setting. She has also been substitute teaching in the public schools on the elementary level for 2 years. She has been with Sylvan since September 2011.

Nole is married to Kristina. He is from Haskell, TX. He teaches Government & Economics.

Nole is currently teaching at Wylie High School, where he has been since 1998. Prior to that, Nole taught two years at Fort Stockton High School (1996-1998). Nole has been with Sylvan since May 2000.

Sarah is married to James and has 2 daughters, Shellie and Alison. She enjoys reading.

EXPERIENCE:
Sarah has 14 years teaching experience in Abilene ISD. She is currently an ARD Facilitator. She has been with Sylvan since April 2000.

ABOUT RENE:
Rene is originally from Cleburne, TX. She has been married to Doug for 21 year and has 2 boys, Trey and Tyler. She enjoys reading, watching her sons play sports, and traveling.

EXPERIENCE:
Rene has been teaching for 19 years. Most of her teaching career has been in Baton Rouge, Louisianna. She has taught 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade. She has been with Sylvan since August 2010.

ABOUT DANA:
Dana lives in Abilene with her husband. She is mother to 6 children and grandmother to 7 grandchildren.

EXPERIENCE:
Dana currently teaches integrated Technology at Bonham Elem and has been there for 8 years. She has been with Sylvan since July 2010.

Zach Sneed

ABOUT ZACH:
Zach is son to Tommy and Traci. He has a younger brother, Casey. He enjoys watching and coaching baseball, hunting, and playing the guitar. Zach was a pitcher on the Abilene Christian University baseball team from 2010-2011.

Currently finishing his B.S. in Math Eduation at Abilene Christian University
EXPERIENCE:
Zach has been with Sylvan since November 2011.

Tracey Serrell

ABOUT TRACEY:
Tracey is married to Paul and has 3 children who go to school in Wylie ISD. Tracey enjoys reading, crafts, and spending time with her family. She is also a big Texas Rangers baseball fan. Tracey is very involved in various Abilene community activities and volunteers on several boards.
EDUCATION:
Tracey recieved her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and her masters degree from the University of Oklahoma.
EXPERIENCE:
Tracey currently works full-time as a realtor at REMAX. Prior to that Tracey taught for many years in Texas and Oklahoma. Tracey also taught immigrant students at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX. Her most recent teaching postion was at Wylie High School, teaching English.

ABOUT BRITTNEY:
Brittney grew up in a large, blended family consisting of 3 brothers, 2 sisters, mother who is a registered nurse, stepfather who is a realtor, stepmother who is a housewife, and father who is a wildlife manager at Nail Ranch. She enjoys jogging with her dog, Wickett, attending music festivals, listening to live music, singing, reading, painting, drawing, crafts and movies.

EXPERIENCE:
Brittney is currently teaching 1st grade at Sweetwater ISD. Prior to that she did 4 years of case management with foster children and children protective services. She has been with Sylvan since November 2011.

Sarah Zell

ABOUT SARAH:
Sarah is married to Scott, who is a butcher at United Supermarkets. Her son, Zach, is an 8th grader at Wylie Junior High. Sarah enjoys scrapbooking and taking care of her 12 pets (dogs, cats, snakes, ferrets, and rabbits). She activiely follows the Wylie Band and jazz band activities that her son is involved with. Sarah also volunteers for hospice at several Abilene hospice locations.
EDUCATION:
-- M.E. in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Science Center
-- Secondary education certification for high school biology
EXPERIENCE:
Sarah has been an Anatomy and Physiology professor at Cisco Junior College for the last 8 years. Prior to that, she taught Biology at DeSoto High for 5 years. She has been with Sylvan since October 2011.

ABOUT CONNOR:
Connor is the daughter of Jeff and Susan and sister to Kyley, Lucy, Logan, and Chloe. She enjoys playing the guitar, singing, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and long walks on the beach. She goes to church at Beltway Park and is also a Young Life leader.
EDUCATION:
Connor is currently a sophomore at Abilene Christian University studying speech pathology.
EXPERIENCE:
Connor previously worked at the Abilene Country Club tennis pro shop. She has been with Sylvan since December 2011.

Katie is the daughter of Mark and Jan and sister to Lane and Jace. She enjoys anything competitive, crafts, cooking, sports, and games. She is involved with various ACU activities including intramurals. She is also actively invovled at her church.

Currently a senior at Abilene Christian University majoring in Family Studies
EXPERIENCE:
Katie has been a substitute teacher in the Abilene ISD for 1.5 years. She has been with Sylvan since June 2011.
