Carol is from the Chicago land area. She graduated from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in History and a teaching degree in 7-12 education. While teaching middle school in Kansas in 2001, Carol worked as an instructor at SLC in Overland Park. She worked both as a Director of Education and an Associate Center Director in Kansas. She moved to Denver in 2005 to pursue the Center Director position. She loves working at Sylvan because of the positive impact it makes on the whole family.
Terri has recently moved to Denver from New Jersey. She earned a B.A. in music from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and a B.A. in mathematics with certification to teach from Rutgers University. Terri’s been working at Sylvan Learning Center since 1997 as an upper level math teacher and an administrative assistant. Terri loves Sylvan because it helps kids and young adults enjoy learning.
Lyn is originally from Florida. She has her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Pensacola College and a Master’s in Elementary Education from University of Phoenix. In Florida, Lyn taught second grade until she moved to Denver in 1998. She has taught Junior Kindergarten and Second Grade here in Colorado. Lyn has played piano for Hernando County Children’s Chorus in Florida and led holiday book drives for Children’s Hospital of Denver. Lyn enjoys teaching at Sylvan because it gives each child the opportunity to succeed. “Every child can learn.”
Jamie graduated from Metro State College of Denver with a degree in Behavioral Science, Parent Education, and Elementary Education. She taught 1st grade before coming to Sylvan in 2002. She is a native to Colorado and enjoys spending time with her husband and son. In her spare time she likes to scrapbook and sing.
Rebecca has lived in the Denver area since 1998. She grew up in Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Bloomsburg University earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Education. She has spent the last ten years working with “at-risk” students in Denver at a private, alternative high school and an online charter school. During this time, she participated in the Master of Counseling program at the University of Phoenix, focusing on School Counseling. For fun, she hangs out with her family and friends. Her parents live in Centennial and one sister lives in Aurora. Her other sister lives in Crested Butte with her husband and their three boys. Rebecca has been working for Sylvan as a Program Manager for the Ace it! Tutoring Program since September 2008.
