Join our Summer Fun 2009!
We have a fun and exciting summer planned here at the Sylvan Learning Center of Fort Collins! Summer is a great opportunity to get your child working above grade level so that he or she is fully prepared to succeed in the fall.
At Sylvan in Fort Collins, we will provide a fun, learning environment to help your child gain the skills he or she needs. This summer, we will have special theme weeks such as "Disco Week" and "Stump the Teacher Week".
With this much fun, it is a great time to look into all that Sylvan has to offer.
Summer Instruction Hours
Don’t let your students get behind over the summer months. Studies have shown that students can lose as much as 3-5 months of learning over the summer break.
Our summer hours are as follows:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday an additional 4:30-6:30 session.
Saturdays: 9:30-12:30 p.m.

Summer Specialty Camps at Sylvan!
This summer, Sylvan of Fort Collins is offering several specialty camps. Many are simple one-week, 10 hour commitments that focus on a particular skill. No initial assessments are required, and space is limited to eight students per camp. Below is a description of the camps offered this summer.
STUDY SKILLS SUCCESS CAMP!
Establish your preferences and priorities.
Discover organizational and time management strategies.
Learn to use a planner/test taking strategies.

ADVANCED READING SKILLS CAMP!
An excellent program for students who want to improve reading comprehension and increase speed at the same time.
Offered: 6/22/2009- 6/26/2009 or 7/13/2009-7/17/2009
COLLEGE BOUND CAMP
A great way for high school junior and seniors to learn what is required for college acceptance. Session will focus on college application essay, SAT/ACT exams, college essay writing.
Offered 8/10/2009- 8/14/2009
ACT and SAT Prep
Sylvan's ACT and SAT Test Preparation can help your student be admitted to the college of their choice. Through this course, 3 out of 4 students raise their SAT score by 160 points and 5 points on their ACT score. Once you complete our test preparation course, you will know what to expect on the test - and you will know how to take the test with confidence.
Our next seminar begins May 2nd to prepare students for the June 13th national test date.

Lifetime Assessment Fee
Did you know that once you pay for an Sylvan assessment in Fort Collins, you will never have to pay for another assessment at our center? If you have already had your child assessed at Sylvan, it will not cost you another dime to have them assessed again in any of our subjects. Homework Help Available
Need help in a particular subject?
Homework Help is available at Sylvan. Reading, Writing, Math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geography, History, and Spanish are available. If you have a need in another subject, please call the Center.
Advanced Reading Skills
Reading is a critical, key skill for all students and is the basis of most of the learning that they do. Students with efficient reading skills are able to learn faster and easier and are able to get through their study work loads more quickly.
In our Advanced Reading Skills program, students will work hard at changing the way they read and process information. We will help them break old reading habits that have been slowing them down and making it harder to understand. Students will develop new skills to improve reading efficiency by increasing speed and comprehension and learn how to use a flexible strategy on diferent types of reading materials.
