Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Rebecca Atkinson
Assistant Director of Education
Rebecca has been with Sylvan for five years. She graduated from Edinboro University with degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education. She worked in the public school system for twenty years before she joined the Sylvan Team. Rebecca enjoys gardening, walking, reading, and music.
She has taught several teachers and enjoyed seeing them become excellent educators. One of her favorite experiences was teaching sign language to Kindergarteners. "I love teaching children how to read!"
Linda Nichols
Executive Director
Linda has been with Sylvan Learning Center for over seven years. She received her BA in Mathematics and her BA in Education from Boston University. She enjoys sewing cooking, and photography. Linda has attended several Sylvan National Conference trainings and has also served on a curriculum development committee for a local charter school.
Michelle Boodry
Director of Education
Michelle has been with Sylvan for over ten years. She earned her degree in Elementary Education at Idaho State University. Her hobbies include cooking, quilting, sewing, reading, hiking, and fishing.

Nancy Anderson
Franchisee
Nancy has owned and operated the Sylvan Learning Center of Idaho Falls for over ten years. She earned her BS in Education at Idaho State. In her spare time, she ejoys activities outdoors and spending time with her friends and family. She loves a reading a good book and writing as well.

NoraDee Jensen
Certified Teacher
NoraDee received her BS in Education from BYU. She has been teaching 1st and 2nd grade for 38 years! She enjoys reading, playing piano and organ, sewing, and kids. She has been a cooperating teacher and a mentor for new teachers. She has served on the Teacher's Assistance Team and as a Reading Strategies Trainer.
Shane Sestero
Certified Teacher
Shane first attended University of Idaho where she received her BA in French, English, and Spanish Education. She then attended Boise State where she received her Masters in English. Shane enjoys playing golf and reading when she has spare time. She has taught for over 34 for years! She is currently the Dept. Head of Foreign Language at Idaho Falls High. She is a new teacher mentor and has also been a cheerleading coach.
Amanda Buck
Certified Teacher
Amanda received her Elementary Education degree from BYU Idaho and she joined our Sylvan Team as a new teacher. She enjoys playing piano, knitting, reading, and watching movies. Amanda enjoyed student teaching in Las Vegas. Her school had a very interesting Career Day: an animal trainer brought in a three-toed sloth!
Heather Priest
Certified Teacher
Heather attended Boise State University wher she received her BA in Elementary Education. She hs taught 2nd and 3rd grade for over 27 years! Her favorite pass-time is quilting.
