Katie recently moved to Salt Lake from Bozeman Montana. She has a formal education background and has enjoyed her work with elementary students in the Montessori setting.

Katie's passion for educating was partially a result of her service experiences in Indonesia, where she saw first hand the effect that a lack of education can have on a society.

Kim Clayton

Instructor

I grew up in Salt Lake City with two brothers and one sister. I enjoy reading, word puzzles and dance. Currently I live with my husband , Tom and my sweet four year old son, Leo. My favorite thing in the world is cuddling and playing with my son.

I started teaching in 1999 in Idaho Falls, ID. I taught at Sylvan and at a juvenile detention center. After that, I moved back to Utah and taught history and German at Jordan High School. From there, I moved to Taiwan for 14 months where I taught English to Taiwanese children age 4-15. That was a great teaching and learning experience for me.

After returning to the U.S., I taught at Challenger Elementary Schools in preschool, kindergarten, 4th grade and 5th grade. That is where I decided that elementary school is the place for me.
