Success Stories

The attention they give our daughter and makes her feel

"The attention they give our daughter and makes her feel important and confident."

- Gail Jessop

Sylvan has been great for my daughter

"My daughter struggled with her reading and communication skills in her classes when she was in 2nd grade. We decided to try Sylvan after hearing about it from a friend. We stopped by and talked to the directors, who were very helpful in evaluating her needs.

We enrolled her in the summer of 2009, and she showed a vast improvement over the summer. Right now, she is a happy 3rd grader, and she is more confident about her school work and she enjoys reading. Sylvan has been great for my daughter and has helped her to do well in school. We appreciate what Sylvan has done for our daughter. Sincerely, Brendan & Michelle"

Money put into Sylvan a great investment!

"We were concerned about our 3rd grader's IOWA scores. He goes to a Spanish immersion program and did not have the grounding in English to do well on this test. But more worrisome to me, he didn't enjoy reading. However, he loved audiobooks and being read to, so I wanted to support and set free his "inner reader". Sylvan's assessment and guarantee (they guarantee they can bring a kid up one grade level in 36 sessions...exactly the distance our child was lagging) gave us the peace of mind to enroll him. We have a few weeks to go til the 36 session and subsequent assessment, but have noticed a dramatic change in his reading ability and enthusiasm. The center staff have been extremely responsive and great partners in this endeavor. All the teachers that have led our son's sessions have been high quality.

I have put a lot of effort into homework help, finding tutors on our own, etc. but have found the money put into Sylvan a great investment!"

Impressed With Sylvan ACT

"I was looking for an ACT prep service for my daughter. We decided to try Sylvan because Sylvan has an 8 student small class size, low cost, strong teaching staff and Speed Reading program which is very helpful for my daughter. Anyway, I was very impressed with her progress. Two thumbs up!"

Thank You

"I would like to thank you and your staff for the outstanding work that you have done with Jordan. He had fun, and acquired some valuable skills and lessons. The people at your center are very friendly and helpful!"

Beginning Reading

"My daughter came to Sylvan lacking basic reading skills and had very little confidence. Within 3 months time, she has increased her vocabulary by 55% and her comprehension skills by 16%. She has just finished a 288 page book that she never would have finished before Sylvan and has started the second series."

Very attentive to the children's needs,

"Very attentive to the children's needs, and parents request of acedemic focus. Has followed through on phone calls and feedback sessions. The majority of the teachers were excellent, only a couple that my son found to be "unexciting"."

Salt Lake Center College Prep

"For many years, my dream school has always been West Point. To get in I knew I needed high ACT scores. English and reading are no problem for me, but math has always been tough.

The summer of my junior year, I took an ACT math prep from Sylvan; and after completing the course, raised my math section score three points. This helped raise my composite score as a whole, which in turn I know, helped my application process to West Point.

After I was accepted for admission into the school, I knew I had to start preparing even more for some of the advanced classes I would experience. One of these required classes is Calculus.

At Sylvan, my math instructor, Catlin, helped show me some of the basic principles of Calculus. Catlin was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I can now honestly say that I feel better prepared for school to start. Even just this crash course in math makes me feel a lot more confident. I would recommend Sylvan to anyone unsure about their personal education skills."
