Jana is from Carson City, Nevada. She attended Western Nevada Community College and the University of Nevada-Reno where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
Jana began working at Sylvan in January of 1999. She is currently the Center Director of the Reno Sylvan Learning Center.
Nevada is now home for Carol, but she was born and educated in Michigan. She earned both of her degrees, Bachelor's of Education and Master's in Educational Administration, from Central Michigan University.
Carol has taught pre-school to college level students, but her career focus has been middle school. She is employed as a middle school teacher in Washoe County School District. She began her "part time" Sylvan career over twenty years ago as a tutor. Currently, she is the Associate Director.
Sharron graduated with a degree in education. She has many years of teaching experience in both the public and private school settings. At Sylvan, she teaches in the areas of reading, math, writing, and study skills.
Che' is from South Lake Tahoe and has earned two A.A. degrees from Lake Tahoe Community College, a Bachelor's degree in Writing from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Sierra Nevada College. He currently maintains a secondary teaching license in English and has been with Sylvan Learning Center since February of 2008.
Gail has an Elementary Education license from the state of Nevada. Gail also has a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Connecticut. Because her own daughter had a very difficult time in school, Gail's educational interest is in students who struggle. She is currently working to obtain her degree in Special Education. While doing so, she works as a substitute teacher and as a tutor for Sylvan Learning Center.
Noel is a native Nevadan. She was born and raised in Carson City, Nevada. After high school, she attended UNR and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in psychology.
Noel taught English at Yerington Middle School and at Sparks Middle School. During this time, 27 years, she earned a master's equivalency through a Washoe County School District program. Noel has trained as a writing specialist, served on numerous committees, and was the English department chair.
In 2002, Noel retired from the school district and has worked part time for UNR as a student intern supervisor, Sylvan Learning Center as an instructor, and TMCC as a tutor and liaison for the Disabled Resource Center.
