The Studio City Sylvan Learning Center helps students learn how to become self-motivated, independent, and most importantly approach school, as well as life, with confidence. Our tutoring programs are available both when school is in session, as well as during the summer with additional instructional hours. State Approved SES Provider
Sylvan Learning Center of Northridge is authorized to serve students in select areas with supplemental educational services (SES) through the No Child Left behind Act. Our curriculum for this service includes both reading and math.
In order to be eligible for SES in the state of California, your child must attend a Authorized Title One school and be eligible for free or reduced lunch. If you think your child may be eligible for SES, it is imperative that you contact the guidance office immediately upon enrollment to register them for SES.

Confidence For The Test Ahead (GED, ASVAB etc)
The Basic Skills Review program helps students and adult learners develop competency in core reading and math skills. The program may be especially beneficial for adults who are preparing to take the General Educational Development (GED) test, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) or an assessment for a new vocation, such as policemen, firemen, postal workers or other service organization.
Book Adventure Is Ready for Back to School Reading
Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8. Children create their own book lists from over 7,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books they've read, and earn points and prizes for their literary successes.

Learn More About Advanced Reading Skills
Advanced Reading Skills (ARS) is a 12-hour reading program designed to double or even triple your child’s reading speed and provide him or her with an array of ways to read based on the purpose of the reading. The Advanced Reading Skills program helps your child who reads at or above grade level to become a more efficient reader. ARS can reduce the time it takes your child to study and move through extensive reading material. Your child’s reading speed can also significantly impact his or her SAT, ACT, or STAR scores. A student taking the SAT must read at least 300 words per minute in order to complete the test. Do you know your child’s reading rate? ARS is also a great program for adults looking to become more efficient readers.
