Center Director

Julianne came to Sylvan with 12 years experience in the educational field. She taught fourth grade for a year in the Rowland Unified School District. She then substituted in the Etiwanda School District for 4 years. She received her teaching credential from the University of La Verne.

Julianne lives with her husband, son and twin boys.

Lisa White

Director of Development and Special Services

Lisa White is a dynamic individual! With years of experience as a social worker, Lisa brings a tremendous amount of passion and drive to the Sylvan team--placing her efforts looking for alternate sources of funding for those families in need. Lisa also leads our marketing outreach opportunities, Ace It tutoring, and is the all-around Optimistic, Energentic, Director who energizes all she comes in contact with!

Hello! My name is Miss Belinda! I graduated from CSUSB with my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies in 2006. I am currently on my way to attaining my Master's in Elementary Education and Multiple Subject Credential. I have been at Sylvan for 3 years. I love the color pink and my favorite place to be is Dodger Stadium! My favorite movie is the Little Mermaid and I love scrap booking!

Rebecca Van Hofwegen

Hi! My name is Rebecca Van Hofwegen. I graduated with my Associate's Degree from Community Christian College and my Bachelor's Degree in Business Managements from CSUSB. I am now in Mild-Moderate credential program. I have worked for San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools for almost 4 years and this will be my 3rd year at Sylvan. Seeing these kids everyday makes me really enjoy what I do. I also enjoy sewing, dancing occasionally, and coffee is my vice!

My name is Debbie Shiba and I taught elementary school for 8 years. This is my 3rd year tutoring at Sylvan and I really enjoy it! I like reading, cookies, and Sponge Bob Squarepants(he makes me laugh)!
