Director of Education
Sylvan Learning Center is the nation’s leading provider of supplemental education. There are approx. 1000+ neighborhood locations throughout the United States and Canada. Sylvan offers programs in Beginning & Advanced Reading, Writing, Basic Math, Algebra, Geometry, Study Skills & SAT/ACT prep programs.
Sylvan Learning Center located in Manteca, CA, is looking for an Education Director. We need a highly motivated individual responsible for creating a strong instructional environment. Responsibilities include diagnostic assessments and supervising a high quality of personalized K-12 programs, mentoring teachers & regular conferencing with parents & school teachers. The person is directly responsible for meeting every enrolled student’s personal academic goals. You should have strong abilities of developing a rapport with every student and to motivate them to achieve their best each day.
To qualify, you are required to have a bachelor’s degree and hold teaching credentials (ANY STATE - CURRENT OR EXPIRED). Excellent organization, communication, and strong computer skills are required. Business background or supervisory experience is a strong plus. This is a fast-paced, multi-tasking education & business environment. Overall compensation includes a strong incentive plan upon meeting business objectives.
The schedule can be either a full-time or part-time position (30 hrs/wk). Pay will be pro-rated for part-time.

Administrative/Teacher Assistant

Sylvan Learning Center located in Manteca, California, is looking for a Part-Time Teacher's Assistant/Aide. We are seeking a motivated and energetic individual to help our teachers prepare for instruction and assist them during instruction. You will be responsible for supervising our students during periods between instruction. The job involves clerical and administrative duties and requires strong computer and organization skills. You should have excellent communications skills and should be able to provide good customer service. Experience in a prior position working with children in a education setting is a plus.
Part-Time position: Mon-Thu (3-7:30pm), Fri (3-6:30pm) & Sat (9-1pm). Extended hours during summer.
To qualify, you need at least high school diploma with a good GPA and should have completed some college work. This is a fast-paced, multi-tasking educational environment.
Compensation: $8 - $10/HR

TEACHERS (PART-TIME)

Sylvan Learning Center located in Manteca, California, is looking for Part-Time Teachers. We are seeking highly motivated teachers with an enthusiastic approach & ability to develop a strong rapport with students. To qualify, you must have teaching certification (any state or status) & be proficient in teaching subjects for K-12 grades.
Instructors will:
• Teach students in a 3:1 student-teacher ratio
• Use pre-planned lessons & proven methods developed by educators
• Use familiar materials approved by schools
• Motivate students of all ages to excel academically
Specific subject areas include:
• Reading (all levels)
• Writing (all levels)
• Math (elementary through Algebra 1 & 2 and Geometry)
• Study Skills
• SAT/ACT Prep
Part-time positions: After school hours & Sat mornings. The center offers extended hours during summer.
Compensation: $13.00 - $18/HR
