Jennifer began her teaching career 30 years ago in Portland Public Schools. She currently teaches at Newberg High School as a Special Education & Behavioral Specialist in a self contained Special Education classroom. Jennifer's passion and commitment to children is like a breath of fresh air!
Jennifer has six of her own children, ranging in age from 15 to 25 and loves to travel abroad.
2011 marks Lori's 15th year in teaching. She's taught high school and middle school students in both the general education and special education environments. Currently, Lori teaches high school students at Southridge High School in Beaverton.
After Lori's experience as a SYLVAN PARENT, she decided she wanted to be a part of the Sylvan educational team! Her dual degree & her experience in Language Arts & her Special Education degree provides our students with the best possible academic coaching!
Debbie has been a Sylvan teacher for the past 5 years! Her degree is from U of O in Elementary Education. She also completed master level Special Education Classes at PSU which has given her incredible insight into the needs of children.
Debbie is currently a Special Education Assistant in the Portland Public School district. "I enjoy life coaching students and watching them take on ownership of their education." She is a huge advocate for our students in Sylvan Study Skills program!
Debbie enjoys sailing, scuba diving, travel and outdoor activities. Her new found passion is photography, especially wildlife, including marine life.
Cheryl has completed her 12th year of teaching K-5 in elementary schools in California, Utah and Oregon. She is a reading specialist and teaches our youngest Sylvan students! Cheryl has been a Sylvan teacher for 3 years.
"I love taking pictures and preserving old picture and antique pictures. Last year I wrote a book about my father’s service during WWII. I love story telling and children’s books!”
Larry attended Columbia Christian College and earned a degree in Bible Studies and minored in Computer Info Systems. His teaching credential is from Chapman University.
Larry is not only a Sylvan teacher but a pastor as well. Larry brings his love of math to Sylvan! We call Larry, "Mr. O Math"! He teaches mostly Algebra, Geometry, & Algebra 2 at Sylvan.
