Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
Cindy has a degree in Elem. Education from the University of Puget Sound. She spent 2 years teaching 1st and 2nd grade, and has home schooled her children for 18 years. Cindy has taught at the Gig Harbor Center for 8 years, and is involved in the local 4-H group as both the main leader and project leader. She teaches Beginning Reading, Academic Reading and Elementary Math. “A teacher has the freedom to expand on a lesson, adapting it to each student. It is a teaching-friendly environment!”
Dana teaches math at all levels as well as WASL prep math and SAT math. She taught in the Peninsula School District last year and has been with Sylvan for 9 years.
Cheryl has a degree in Education/Language Arts from Seattle Pacific University. She has 20 years of teaching experience, including teaching 4th-6th grade in the public school system, 3rd-12th in private schools and as a Home school Supervisor for the Family Academy. She teaches both Beginning and Academic Reading at the Gig Harbor Center. “I find the small group setting to be the most effective, catering to individual needs of the students and offering immediate feedback/rewards for learning.”
Dee Dee has a degree in Interdisciplinary Elementary Education, with an emphasis in Special Education from Western Washington University. She has been working with children and substitute teaching for years. She teaches all subjects and grade levels, specializing in writing, WASL Prep and SAT Verbal. In her spare time, Dee Dee and her husband enjoy their 5 grandchildren and travel.
Lydia received her Bachelor' in Education from Pacific Lutheran University in 2002. She has been with Sylvan Learning for the past 8 years.
Brad has been teaching/tutoring math since 1999. He also enjoys science. Brad teaches upper level math and provides homework support for our high school students.
Tess graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry Education from Illinois State University. She teaches upper level math and provides homework support in the areas of math and science to our high school and middle school students.
Nicole graduated in 2008 with her Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Pacific Lutheran University. Nicole teachers everything from our youngest beginning readers to our high school and junior high algebra students.
Charly graduated from Lewis and Clark College with her Bachelor's in English, journalism, and Spanish as well as her Master's in teaching. Currently she is the librarian at Artondale Elementary. Charly teaches reading to our elementary age students.
