Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
Christine has a K-8 education degree and a BA in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University. She worked in the Kent and Sumner School Districts before joining our Sylvan family eight years ago. In her free time, Christine enjoys hiking, biking and snowshoeing with husband Greg, son Owen and red lab Diego. Christine and Greg are anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby boy # 2!
Pacific Lutheran University was pleased to award Gayle with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, with an emphasis in English/Language Arts, and a minor in Music. Gayle currently teaches Language Arts at Puyallup High School and is also a published poet. Here at Sylvan, Gayle works with our junior high students in Reading, Writing and Math.
Sheri graduated with a degree in Math Education from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. She truly has a gift for understanding complex math equations and explaining them to her students. When she’s not computing math concepts, she lives to play games, read, do crafts, and hang out with her friends and husband Bill. At Sylvan, she teaches Algebra, Geometry, and SAT prep.
Anita is the newest member of our staff but she is not new to the educational world. Earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Physical Education, Anita has taught for almost 30 years in both the public and private sectors. She loves teaching because no two days are alike. In her spare time, she loves to be with her family. Anita works with our younger students teaching reading and math skills.
Kim has a BS in Geology from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and and Education Certificate in Special Education from Pacific Lutheran University. She has 10 years of experience as a Para-Educator, and has been with Sylvan for two years. She teaches our Beginning Reading, Academic Reading and Math Essentials programs. Kim enjoys gardening and word games in her free time.
