Nancy Coolidge

Center Director

Nancy has been with Sylvan for 11 years, first as an instructor, then as a Director of Education and Center Director. She is an active member of the community and a tireless advocate for youth. In 2000 she was named Sylvan Center Director of the Year out of a field of nearly 1000 centers. Nancy moved from Vacaville, California, to Wenatchee to start the Sylvan Learning Center. Her interests include reading and her dog.

Sue Coolidge

Center Manager

Sue has spent her career in the area of customer service. Starting with Piedmont Airlines and continuing with US Airways, Sue has served as agent, supervisor, new-hire trainer, and customer service representative. She is also a trained Montessori teacher. Her responsibilities at the Wenatchee Sylvan include testing, scheduling, communicating with parents, and customer service. She moved here from Tipp City, Ohio, to join the Wenatchee Sylvan team.

Andrea Harris

Instructional Manager

Annie is a recent graduate of Wenatchee Valley College where she studied to become an elementary school teacher. She joined us in February as a teacher's assistant and has demonstrated exceptional versatility and competence in her role, which is ever-expanding. The students and teachers enjoy her energy and commitment. She enjoys camping, quilting, and has a cat, a dog and a horse.

Melissa Quilter

Teacher

Missy graduated from Central Washington University with a major in math education. She enjoys scrapbooking and quilting, plays volleyball with friends, and has two dogs and at least three cats at any given time. Missy joined us in January 2005 and brought a great sense of relief to those of us who had been helping kids with geometry and algebra 2.

Michele Townliand

Teacher

Michele joined us in September, primarily as our SAT prep teacher, but she teaches our reading and math programs as well. She has vast experience in tutoring and one-on-one teaching, including a stint at the Sylvan Learning Center in Kirkland. She graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a B.A. in math and a certification for teaching. Michele enjoys reading, skiing, and scrapbooking and has cats.

Paula Krasowski

Teacher

Paula earned her B.A. and certification from San Diego State University. She has certifications in both California and Washington in elementary education and has worked as a substitute teacher in California, Colorado, Wisconsin and Washington. Her hobbies include piano, fine arts, and gardening. She has a border collie and a cat. Paula joined us in March 2005.

Christin Larson

Teacher

Christin Larson graduated from Salem International University with a degree in secondary education with a math major. She has returned to East Wenatchee where she hopes to obtain a full-time teaching position. In the meantime, she has joined our staff where she will start as a math and reading teacher. Christin's hobbies include swimming , cooking, reading, and camping.

Angela Banker

Teacher

Angela Banker graduated from Central Washington University as a education major. She taught three years in Vancouver, WA, and moved to Wenatchee in 2004 when her husband opened his chiropractic office. Angela enjoys arts and crafts, collects music boxes, and loves dogs although she doesn't currently have one of her own. She joined our team as our very first teacher in October 2004.

April Cheadle

Teacher

April Cheadle graduated form Central Washington University with a B.A. in elementary education and endorsement as a reading specialist. She is well-known and well-regarded in the community as a highly successful swim coach. In addition to her passion for swimming. April is an avid reader and writer, loves old Broadway musicals, and has a cat named Coalby.

Andrew Behler

Instructional Manager/Tutor

Andrew received his AAS degree from Wenatchee Valley Community college in 2001. He then went on to complete his BA at Western Washington University in 2004. He majored in English Literature and minored in Linguistics. He joined our team in November 2007. His official titles are Instructional Manager and Tutor, but we see his role evolving as he becomes more familiar with Sylvan. His interests include snowshoeing, backpacking, sports, reading, art, music, and his son.

Liz Detmore

Teacher

Liz graduated from Washington State Universtiy with a BA in Elementary Education. She went on to earn her professional teaching certificate and master's degree in counseling from Seattle Pacific University. After teaching middle school in Issaquah for 6 years, she and her husband relocated to Cashmere where Liz now teaches 6th grade at Cashmere Middle school. Liz enjoys reading, movies, and exercising. She Joined our team in February 2007.

Liane Fabre

Teacher

Liane earned her teaching certification from Central Washington University and taught for nearly 20 years in East Wenatchee as a math and German teacher. Having traveled extensively as a youth, Liane brings a very diverse background which gives her a broad perspective on people, cultures, languages, and geography. Her interests include reading, music, and comedy. She joined us in December 2005

Nancy graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA with an English major and eduction minor. She joined us in November 2007 and is currently working in the reading program. She taught 3rd through 6th grade for many years and now enjoys reading, movie mysteries, and dogs and cats.

Jody earned he BA from Central Washington University and her Master's from Seattle Pacific. She joined our staff in November 2007. She has taught 4th-6th grade for several years and enjoys swimming, reading, and learning new things.

Alicia Todd

Teacher

Alicia graduated from Washington State University in Pullman with a bachelor's in education. Her return to Wenatchee from time in California, Pennsylvania, and Ohio also brought her to us in January 2007. She enjoys singing, dancing, and Dr. Seuss. She is currently training in beginning reading, academic reading, writing and math.

Kelen Wiggum

Puller

Kellen joined our team in June of 2008. He participated in the Sylvan SAT preparation program and homework support. He graduated from Wenatchee High School in 2007 and just finished his first year at Washington State University. He is majoring in political science and minoring in history.
