Director of Education
As a successful Director of Education, you will champion the Sylvan developed curriculum, manage and ensure the quality of the education standards and teaching staff.
As Director of Education, you will:
- Select, train & motivate a team of part-time certified instructors, teachers and educational staff.
- Oversee staff for educational policies and procedures.
- Partner with the Center Director to run operations.
- Administer Sylvan Skills Assessments, write and recommend goal-based programs for Sylvan students as well as monitor programs for performance.
- Establish relationships and communications with students’ teachers for insights on school progress, and create a positive learning environment during all phases of the instructional program.
- You will keep students, parents, or responsible parties informed on program progress and make recommendations to alter program prescriptions or offer additional programs.
We require:
· Bachelor’s degree and some teaching experience
· State level teaching certification (current or expired) (note if certificate has not been obtained we will work with you to obtain one.)
· Strong Customer Service and Communication Skills and the ability to multi-task
Previous Business and/or Sales experience a plus.

Center Instructor

As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, setting. You will provide personalized instruction in Reading, Writing, Math and State exams to 8th and 9th graders.
As a successful Instructor, you will:
Deliver Quality Education:
• Teach using Sylvan based programs
• Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour
• Reward students for completed assignments
• Evaluate and document student progress
• Communicate student needs to the Director of Education
Inspire Students:
• Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment
• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan
We require:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience
• State level teaching certification (current or expired, not required for Math Instruction)
