"Through the work of your teachers and staff, my son has learned how to learn. Sylvan always treated him with respect and helped him find a way out of failure - an important lesson for all of us to learn. He worked hard and gained the confidence that he could indeed succeed in school. Thank you, Sylvan Learning! You have made all the difference."
- Virginia, Sylvan Parent
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
Corinne's position is that of assisting the Directors and Instructional Staff of Sylvan Learning Centre. She functions in a widely varied role in all aspects of the centre operations. She is the ultimate "multi-tasker". Corinne's support, care and enthusiasm fosters a positive learning environment in which every student has the opportunity to experience that "Learning Feels Good".
As the owner, Wayne's role is that of directing and managing the centre. Prior to owning Sylvan, Wayne spent 23 years in sales management and marketing. Although much of his time is spent overseeing the daily operations, he is just as eager to lend a helping hand any way that's needed. Of particular pleasure, to Wayne, is the opportunity in meeting and getting to know each and every parent and student.
Carol-Lynn joined the Sylvan Learning Centre in 2007 as the Centre Director. She brings to Sylvan over 15 years of management and supervisory experience that were gained at all levels of government as well as in the private sector. As Centre Director, Carol-Lynn is responsible for over seeing the assessment and enrollment process and welcoming all families into the centre. Along with her management responsibilities she enjoys being actively involved as the community liaison. Carol-Lynn continues to maintain an active schedule in the raising of her child, volunteering on the “Home and School” and serving as an elected member of the PSSC committee.
Heather has never believed in the concept of ‘free time’. Along with being an involved mother to her three young children, she is active in her neighbourhood school, her church, and in the community. She brings to her position a diverse background which includes management, counseling, and classroom teaching. Heather is excited to be serving as the Director of Education after having witnessed so many success stories during her two years as a Sylvan teacher.
“Education is not the filling of a bucket but rather the lighting of a fire.”
