Maggie received her BA in Psychology and Economics from McMaster University. Her career background lies in financial and investment consulting. Maggie was drawn to Sylvan as she loves to see children discover their own potential. Maggie enjoys working with students in the centre as she conducts assessments and confers with families.
Shelagh holds an Honors BCom from Queen’s University and has a career background in adult training with 2 Canadian Chartered Banks. She and her husband have 5 adult children and 3 grandchildren. Shelagh enjoys conducting Diagnostic Assessments and meeting with new families.
Debbie has been part of the Sylvan family since 2001! She acts as ‘Den Mother’ to all of our staff and students, and is the first point of contact for many of our families. Debbie knows first hand about Sylvan’s excellent programs as two of her children are past students. She and her husband have three children and 1 grandchild, with another on the way.
Jen has been a Sylvan teacher since 2007!
She has a BA in Theatre and a BEd from York University. She is certified to teach primary and junior divisions with additional qualifications in Special Education. Jennifer teaches reading, writing, and math programs with a flair that her students enjoy.
Joey has a BSc from York University with a major in Math and a minor in Chemistry. He received his BEd from Nipissing and possesses qualifications in the junior, intermediate, and senior divisions with specializations in Mathematics and Chemistry. In addition to teaching all levels of math, Joey also teaches our reading program and offers Homework Support to our Science students.
Tiffany holds a BA from Windsor with a major in Drama in Education and Minors in Child Psychology and English. She received her BEd from Nipissing with qualifications in primary, junior, and intermediate divisions with additional qualifications in Reading and Special Education. Tiffany teaches reading, writing, and math programs as well as offering Homework Support.
After completing her BA in Psychology and Child Studies at the University of Guelph, Kerri earned her MSc in Education at D’Youville College. She holds primary and junior teaching qualifications with a specialization in Reading. Kerri teaches reading and math.
Nora began teaching with Sylvan in 2005. Nora holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Image Arts from Ryerson University and a BEd from the University of Windsor. She is certified to teach Primary and Junior divisions and is a Special Education Specialist. Nora teaches writing, reading, math, and SAT programs as well as offering homework support to our high school students studying English, Geography, and History.
Meghan holds a BSc in Biology and Psychology from Dalhousie University and a BEd from Nipissing. She is qualified to teach Primary and Junior divisions as well as Intermediate Sciences and additional qualifications in Special Education. Meghan is actively involved in the local equestrian circuit and has years of executive experience with the North River Rider’s Horse Club. Meghan teaches reading, math, writing, and study skills programs, as well as offering homework support in Biology, Chemistry, and Math to our high school students.
Claire holds as BA and BEd from Nipissing University. She teaches primary through intermediate divisions and has additional qualifications in Special Education and English as a Second Language. Claire is a substitute teacher for Simcoe county District School Board and an active member of our community where she volunteers with local schools and The Seasons Centre for Grieving Children.
