Thank you to the Oakville Learning Centre!
When we decided to have Ian assessed academically, we knew he was behind in his learning. We didn't think he was that far behind. He had no confidence in his answers and it took him sometimes hours to do 20 to 30 minutes of homework. That really showed up in his report cards. We just assumed that "oh well he's a boy. He's just being lazy". Many times we would sit with him to do his homework, and somehow we would end up giving him the answer. In Oct 2007 we came to you. He started off just doing 3 hours a week. He was progressing. But because he was so far behind you suggested 5 hours a week. By April of 2008 he had gone up three grade levels in his reading and 2 1/2 grade levels in his math. He left Sylvan in June of 2008. We were a little worried with the new school year coming. He has been doing fantastic. He has all the confidence in the world and is not afraid to ask questions and give an answer. It is taking him 20 to 30 minutes to do his homework 3 to 4 nights a week. Every night for 20 minutes he is reading his favourite book. His grades are up. Most importantly he wants to go to school and he is very motivated. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at Sylvan learning Centre Oakville for giving Ian the confidence. It has been our best Investment.
