Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

Jessica Rollins
Center Director
Jessica has been part of the Sylvan team since April of 2003. She loves the ability to work with the whole family throughout their Sylvan program. Jessica says, “Being able to help guide parents through the educational and developmental process alongside of their child is the most rewarding part of working at Sylvan.” Jessica is passionate about creating a safe learning environment where students can build both knowledge and confidence.
Nate Owen
Director of Education
Nate has served as a Sylvan Director of Education in Mid-Michigan since 2006. He has been an integral part of the educational teams in both our Brighton and Lansing Learning Centers. Nate enjoys working with students and parents in an effort to help the entire family overcome academic challenges. Nate says his “favorite part of the Sylvan process is helping students grow in confidence on the way to realizing their full potential.”
Jennifer Shumaker
Director of Education
Jennifer joined our Sylvan of Lansing staff in November of 2004 as an instructor. In February of 2011 she joined our director staff as a Director of Education. Jennifer enjoys learning about a family and helping to meet their needs in ways that the family never thought possible. Jennifer states, “My favorite part of being a director at Sylvan is supporting the entire family through the home, school, and Sylvan connections to create the best education for a student.”
