Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding

Executive Director
Karen is responsible for administration of education programs and staffing. She has been with Sylvan since the Lethbridge Centre opened in 1988.
Polly F.
Centre Director
Polly loves to teach Science, Math and English. She was nominated for the Excellence in Teaching Award while she taught in Edmonton.
Marilyn T.
Director of Education
Marilyn has experience as a math instructor, Distance Learning marker, and E.S.L. Instructor. She joins our Centre after working as Director of Education at the Sylvan Learning Centre in Vancouver, Washington.
Jessica K.
Assistant Director
Jessica holds her B. Ed. with a specialization in Early Childhood Education.
Jamie M.
Instructor
Jamie holds a combined degree from the University of Lethbridge including a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts. She has experience teaching students of all ages.
Silvio M.
Instructor
Silvio spent 35 years teaching with the Lethbridge School District #51. His focus has been in assisting elementary school-aged children with Math, Reading and Writing.
Mark W.
Instructor
Mark received his Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Education (Great Distinction) from the University of Lethbridge. He has experience teaching Math (Including Math30P), Science(Including Physics30 and Chemistry30), Leadership, and Religion.
Nancy W.
Assistant Director
Nancy has experience teaching Adult Education and academic advising. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge and is currently taking Master of Education courses.
Alison A.
Instructor
Alison holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts from Lakehead University in Ontario. She has experience as a Child and Youth Worker, ESL teacher and has taught students of all ages. She has volunteered her time as a member of the Board of Directors for the Lethbridge Comminity School Association.
Tamara C.
Instructor
Tamara obtained her Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge. She is passionate about helping children achieve their potential.
Shane C.
Instructor
Shane loves teaching math. At Sylvan, he teaches math skills up to Math 30 Pure, and Science including Chemistry 30 and Physics 30.

Instructor
David has experience teaching Math and Science (including Biology 30) to students in grade 3 to University.

Tobiah has experience working with a variety of age levels and people of diverse cultural backgrounds.

Caitlyn graduated with Great Distinction from the U of L with a B.A./B.Ed., majoring in English Language Arts and with a minor in Social Studies.
