Sylvan Academic Reading
A love for reading starts with help from Sylvan's reading tutors.
Through grade three, children are learning to read; from grade four on, children are reading to learn. At any time in these years, a gap in the reading foundation can make learning of any type – enrichment or remedial — difficult, if not impossible.

Writing
Sylvan Academic Writing
The basis for all of Sylvan's writing tutoring programs is “authenticity” – the learning and practice of writing skills in real–life settings and activities that mimic daily experiences. Practicing vocabulary by using new words in a letter to a friend is more effective than memorizing dictionary definitions.
Sylvan's writing tutoring programs are designed for students in fourth grade through high school.
