Georgia's Success with Math

"In 2008, we had been noticing that our daughter Georgia was having difficulty with her Math studies and was spending up to 3 hours a night trying to complete her math. It was at the end of December 2008 that we had decided that Georgia needed assistance with her math, after receiving her report card prior to the break and she had received a “D.” So during her Christmas break we had Georgia take an assessment test to determine where exactly she was at and proceed from there. We found Georgia to be at almost a Grade 4 level in her comprehension of math. We enrolled Georgia to begin at Sylvan the beginning of January 2009. Georgia attended Sylvan Learning from Jan to June 2009 and what a feat. In the short time that Georgia attended Sylvan, she accomplished her goal and that was to have the capability of doing math with out frustration, and being able to understand the basic concepts. Georgia was assessed that she would need to put in at least 120 hours to get her caught up to the expected level of the Grade 6 curriculum. This was accomplished in less time and the significant changes speak for themselves. Her math grades improved her confidence in doing math improved her time spent doing math at home decreased immensely. Georgia was able to show her teachers her accomplishments and was very proud of her."
