Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Debbie Darling
Centre Director
Debbie has worked in the education field for the last twelve years. She has experience in the school system as well as the Calgary Board of Education Human Resources Dept. She has been at Sylvan for the last ten years and has a passion for making everything she does fun!
Kylie Augustine, B.A., B.Ed.
Director of Education
Kylie obtained her Arts and Education degrees from Lakehead University, England. She has 7 years experience as an elementary teacher in England, as well as, 2 years prior experience working at Sylvan. Kylie enjoys helping children experience success in their learning! She also enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, especially hiking and mountain biking.
Amanda Kaczmarek, B. Ed.
Director of Education
Amanda was teaching at Sylvan for 2 years before becoming our Director of Education in April 2010. She will be leaving for her maternity leave as of August 31, 2011. Congratulations Amanda!

Our wonderful tutors hold multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Education. They also have received provincial certification as well as lots of teaching experience in all subjects!
