Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
Kaitlyn McMurray is an enthusiastic teacher whose ambition is to inspire students with a love for learning. When working with Kaitlyn, students will often find themselves learning more than they need to know and enjoying the experience. Her degrees include both a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts including an English Honors Major and Theatre minor. She has had experience as a substitute teacher in the Grande Prairie and surrounding area, and is skilled at teaching all grades and subjects. She began at Sylvan as director in December of 2011. She is glad to answer any questions you have about the Sylvan program or to give you a tour of the educational facilities. She also arranges testing of students to determine their level of knowledge, any gaps they might have, and how Sylvan Learning can help them to succeed.

Alana Chester enjoys working with small groups of students by helping them reach their full potential. Students find her very knowledgeable and easy to work with. She has used her Bachelor of Education, as a substitute teacher in the Grande Prairie school district to teach all grades and subjects. She also worked as a teacher at the Oxford Learning Centre, instructing in reading, writing, and mathematics. Other areas of interest which broaden her educational background are her interests in dance and photography. She is an essential member of the Sylvan team here at Grande Prairie.
Barbara Spurrell’s calm, caring demeanor sets students at ease as she helps them to fill in the gaps in their knowledge. Younger students especially experience a confidence boost when they work with Barbara. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts with a Psychology/English Major. She has worked as a substitute teacher for many schools in the Grande Prairie district. She is an essential member of the Sylvan team here at Grande Prairie.
