The Torrance Sylvan Learning Center helps students learn how to become self-motivated, independent, and most importantly approach school, as well as life, with confidence. Our tutoring programs are available both when school is in session, as well as during the summer with additional instructional hours. The notion of supplemental education, whether it’s to catch up, keep up or get ahead, has been around for a very long time. Socrates, for instance, tutored Plato and Plato tutored Aristotle. These were all bright philosophers and scholars who learned from someone who knew more. So, how can parents know when a personal instructor is right for their child – before the first report card is received?

Students can purchase Sylvan T-Shirts from the Student Store for 50 tokens. Students who wear their shirts on Sylvan T-Shirt Days will earn an additional 5 tokens.

Double Token Days
Tokens are the Motivational System in use at Sylvan Learning Centers across the nation. Students earn tokens for completing their work and giving good effort while learning new skills. The tokens can be traded in for prizes at the Sylvan store. Students will earn double their tokens during their classes on Double Token Days.

Tutition is Due
Tuition for the month is always due during the first week of the month. If you are unsure of the amount you are to pay for the month, please call the center or come in and speak with a director. We would be happy to assist you.
