Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:

Allison Simpson
Director of Education
Allison decided she wanted to become a teacher when she spent a summer working at the CNIB with children with visual impairments. She was inspired by their spirit and desire to learn under all circumstances. Allison has a B.A. in History and an Education degree from Vancouver Island University. She graduated in 2007 and joined the Sylvan team in Vancouver in 2008 as a teacher. She pursued a career with Sylvan because it is instrumental in providing individual support for students while instilling in them a love for life-long learning. As the Director of Education in Surrey/Newton she can direct a student’s program for maximum academic growth and success.
Davie Chahal
Centre Director
Davie thrives in her position as Director of Education in the Surrey/Newton Sylvan Learning location. She grew up loving school and loving learning. It was a natural decision to continue on to university after high school. She went to Simon Fraser and earned her B.A. in History and then followed it with a Bachelor of Education from UNBC. While teaching in the classroom Davie also worked at Sylvan Learning. It was at Sylvan that Davie learned of the amazing success stories of students who initially struggled but eventually overcame school challenges. She decided to have a career with Sylvan so she could play an integral role in shaping students for future success in school and in life.
