Since Pallas started at Sylvan, I've witnessed a huge difference in her approach to reading and to learning. Like many families, I am a single mom working full time, and one on one time with Pallas is precious. Reading time at home is no longer a battle like it used to be. Now, reading time is our "together time"; a time when we can both relax and talk and read and enjoy being together. Pallas grows more confident each day in Language Arts and Math. ""My son Simon was having difficulty at school. The feedback I got from his teacher was that some days he was co-operative and other days, not. The teacher was unable to pinpoint the actual problem, which made it hard for me as his parent to focus on a particular area to assist his growth and development. When I questioned the teacher further, all I understood was that he was underachieving for his standard.
One session with Sylvan changed all of this. After the assessment we were able to see exactly where Simon's strengths and weaknesses were. What was very disturbing is that he had been running behind in the area of comprehension for about three years and no one had picked it up. Sylvan works!

"When my daughter Ashley started at Sylvan last year, she was assessed by the school at being almost 2 full grades behind. Ashley was suffering from anxiety over math and it was affecting every aspect of her life. After a few hours with Sylvan, we saw an extreme change in her for the better. No more anxiety and she was starting to feel "smarter" as she put it. Gradually, after 36 hours of tutoring with Sylvan, Ashley's grades began to climb and her confidence level in every day life improved immensely.
