Lisa Klein
Center Director
Lisa graduated from the University of Kalmar in Sweden with a BA in education. After graduation Lisa left Sweden and moved to Ontario, where she taught at the Swedish school. After two years in Canada Lisa returned to Sweden and worked at two international schools. In Nov 2004 Lisa left Stockholm for St Louis and she has been with Sylvan since Feb 2005. When Lisa is not at Sylvan she spends time with her husband and their dogs Albus Dumbledog and Luna Lovedog two crazy but adorable Shelties.
Ann Miller
Director of Education
Ann graduated from Grinnel College in Iowa with a BA in Art and Psychology. She did her graduate work in Education and Special Education at th University of Missouri at St Louis. In her early years of teaching, Ann helped develop techniques used to teach children with learning disabilities. After a break from teaching, when Ann travelled and worked throughout the United Stated, Mexico and Canada, Ann returned to St Louis, and has been with Sylvan for six years.
Eric Baker
Teacher
Eric graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, in 1990, with a B.S. in Mathematics. He married and moved to California and then to St. Louis, in 1997. Once here, Eric received a Masters in Education from Maryville University and has been teaching in the Kirkwood School District for 10 years. Eric has four children and a wife named Kelly.
Emily Pettersen
Teacher
Emily graduated with a B.A. in history from UCLA. She completed her teaching certification at Mills College and received a masters in teaching from Webster University. She has taught grades 1-5 and is currently a Math Specialist for Rockwood School District. She is from California but has lived in St. Louis for the past 11 years. She has a wonderful golden retriever named Lucy, who likes to come to school whenever she can!
Ken Boyd
Teacher
Kenneth W. Boyd, a former CPA, has over 20 years of experience in accounting, education and financial services. In recent years, Ken has served as an Adjunct Professor of Accounting at the Cook School of Business at St. Louis University and Sanford, Brown College. Ken has over 2,700 hours of classroom instruction experience. He has written test questions for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam for ACT, Inc.
