After graduating from Florida Southern College with a degree in Math, I spent 25 years in the Information Technology field, primarily as a software tester and project manager. For the past eight years, I have tutored on my own and at Sylvan. I teach all the Sylvan programs. My hobby is painting - walls- not pictures. I am always eager to swap decorating ideas.
It has been my privilege to work with children for 32 years as a public school teacher. My six months at Sylvan has enabled me to extend those skills in moving children toward becoming lifelong, independent learners. Being a self-motivated learner myself, an avid reader, and an amateur writer, enables me to motivate children to succeed in those areas. Other interests include scrapbooking and trying new recipes.
I have been a teacher for twelve years. I've taught in Douglas County and Paulding County middle schools. I currently teach Gifted Language Arts at Herschel Jones Middle School in Dallas. I've been at the Dallas Sylvan Center since October 2007. I also worked at the Douglasville center form 1997 to 1999. I have two children in high school and I love to read and travel.
