Meet the Tutors
Our Sylvan trained and certified tutors are dedicated to your child’s success. Working together with you, we will:
- Pinpoint your child’s learning needs using the Sylvan Skills Assessment®
- Develop a personalized learning plan based on your child’s goals
- Offer unique insights about what will work for your child
- Teach each lesson the way your child learns best
- Build a relationship with your child to provide learning that’s fun, engaging and rewarding
Todd Crabtree
Executive Director
Todd is extremely passionate about education and is committed to providing the best educational experience children can receive. With a can-do attitude, Todd has managed learning centers for over 10 years. He cherishes his time mentoring directors and loves meeting with parents to discuss their children's needs. Todd is a life-long resident of Southern California and graduated at the top of his class at Cal State Fullerton. He loves teaching algebra, math, and SAT prep. The kids can't believe that he was a former Marine Gunnery Sergeant. What he enjoys most about Sylvan: "I love challenging and mentoring the middle school students. There's nothing better than seeing a child go from 'I don't care,' to, 'Hey, I can do this!'"

Luisa Castanon
Center Director
Luisa Gomez worked as a teacher for 17 years before she joined our Sylvan Team. She has worked with children for over 20 years and strongly believes in how important it is to help our youth become the leaders of the future. She is a mother herself and is passionate about helping all children succeed and get to that pinnacle moment of feeling they can do it! She enjoys talking with parents and working hand in hand with the family and her staff to make every student’s journey unique and successful.
