Meet the Tutors
The tutors of Killeen Sylvan Learning Center are all Sylvan trained and certified so that they can best address your child’s academic needs. Our tutors are dedicated to working closely with you and your child in order to help your child reach his or her goals. We start by pinpointing your child’s strengths and areas for improvement through the Sylvan Skills Assessment®. From there, our Killeen staff develops a personalized learning plan for your child and offers unique insights about what methods will work best with your child. Ultimately, our tutors will build a relationship with your child and provide a fun, engaging, and rewarding learning environment. The Killeen Sylvan Learning Center staff consists of highly experienced and established educational professionals who take great pride in their work with students who want to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
Rosemary Lantz
Center Director
Certified Mathematics Instructor 
Rosemary is a graduate of Regis University in Denver, CO where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History. She is also certified to teach Secondary Social Studies. In her free time, Rosemary enjoys history, reading and watching movies. At Sylvan, she enjoys getting to know the students and helping them achieve their goals.
Tara Garay
Director of Education
Tara is a graduate of Tarleton State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History. She is also certified to teach Early Childhood-4th. In her free time, Tara enjoys reading books such as Harry Potter and the Left Behind Series. At Sylvan, she enjoys the opportunity to follow her dream of educating our youth.

Tonya Leach Coppock
Certified Mathematics Instructor
Tanya is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Education and Kaplan University where she earned a Masters of Science in Education. She is also certified to teach Special Education EC-12th. In her free time, Tanya enjoys reading, hiking and playing with her children. At Sylvan, she enjoys the unique variety of students she works with each day.
Kathy Eversoll
Certified Mathematics Instructor
Kathy is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin Baylor where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. She is also certified to teach Self Contained 1-8, Secondary Math 9-12 and Math Specialization 1-8. In her free time, Kathy enjoys teaching music and singing. At Sylvan, she enjoys working individually with students so they can achieve their highest potential.

Tammy Robinson

Tammy is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology where she earned a Bachelors degree in Management Science and Georgia State University where she earned a Masters in Actuarial Science. In her free time, Tammy enjoys the boys scouts and church work. At Sylvan, she enjoys the individualized approach to teaching.

Quinn Oatts

Quinn is a graduate of Chadron State College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation with a Minor in Physical Education. He also has a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. Quinn is certified to teach EC-6th. In his free time, Quinn enjoys coaching, competing in activities and spending time with family.

Summer Terrell
Certified Mathematics Instructor
Summer is a graduate of Texas Lutheran University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Tarelton State University where she earned a Masters of Education Administration. She is certified to teach Secondary Mathematics grades 6-12, Secondary PE grades 6-12 and Master Math Teacher grades 6-12, in addition to being a Sylvan Certified Math Instructor. In her free time, Summer enjoys watching/playing sports and spending time with family.
Kathleen Flax
Certified Mathematics Instructor
Kathleen is a graduate of the University of Toledo where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She holds a teaching certificate in Elementary Education grades 1-8, in addition to being a Sylvan Certified Math Instructor. In her free time, Kathleen enjoys volunteering for the AARP Tax Aide, exercising and genealogy. At Sylvan, she enjoys working in a small group setting.

Phylicia Miner
Certified Mathematics Instructor
Phylicia is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University where she earned a Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems. She is also a Sylvan Certified Mathematics Instructor. In her free time, Phylicia enjoys reading, shopping and cooking. At Sylvan, she enjoys watching the students gain confidence and knowledge.

John Wall

John is a graduate of Eastern Washington University where he earned a Bachelors in Business and Information Systems. He is also certified to teach Generalist 4-8. In his free time, John enjoys spending time with family. At Sylvan, he enjoys working with different students.

Jennifer Cresswell

Jennifer is a graduate of Texas State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. She is also certified to teach EC-4 Generalist and EC-12 Special Education. If her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with family and volunteering in the community. Monkia is a graduate of Texas A&M Central Texas where she earned an Associates of Art in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies. She is also certified to teach English/Language Arts/Reading grades 4-8. In her free time, Monika enjoys traveling to historic landmarks and the theater. At Sylvan, she enjoys having the opportunity to help students find the key to unlock their learning potential.

Heather Hastings

Heather is a graduate of Neumann College where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. She is also certifed to teach K-6. In her free time, Heather enjoys reading, shopping and traveling with her husband. At Sylvan, she enjoys working with the students.

Casey Jones

Casey is a graduate of McMurry University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. He is also certified to teach Theater Arts 6-12 and Speech 8-12. In his free time, Casey enjoys spending time with family, baseball and painting. At Sylvan, he enjoys working with students to see the benefit of an education.
